Lamp of Learning
A diya flame rising from an open book — the Indian symbol of light and learning.
The diya flame
In India, lighting a diya drives away darkness. It stands for the light of knowledge that a good teacher passes on.
The open book
An open book stands for learning that is shared. The two pages are the teacher and the student, working together.
Maroon and gold
Deep maroon for tradition and experience, and warm gold for the spark of understanding.
